<p>We lose water through normal bodily functions, i.e. breathing, perspiration, excretion of urine and feces. And since our bodies cannot store water, we must ensure that we drink enough of it every day. For the body to function properly, its water supply must be continually replenished by consuming water, other beverages, and foods that contain water.</p>
<h3>We Need to Drink 8 Glasses of Water A Day</h3>
<p>How much water do you need to drink? To play it safe, most adults should drink up to eight 8-oz. glasses of water every day. You’ll need to drink more if you’re exercising or performing some strenuous physical activity. For weight loss purposes, drink an extra glass of water for every 25 lbs. of excess weight. It’s also important not to go without water for too long. For example, you drink several glasses of water for 5 hours, and then go without for another 5. That simply won’t work; you have to keep yourself hydrated at all times.</p>

<p>But how does water help you lose weight? If you drink a glass of water before a meal, it will fill you up – without adding any calories – and you end up eating less.
