Spring has nearly sprung and now you need to think about dropping a few pounds before Summer gets here. You want to look sexy in that new bikini or those cut-off shorts, and you think you’d look much better if you drop a couple of pounds. So now you just need a way to accomplish this. There are two things you most definitely are going to have to do. You have to modify your diet and increase the amount of exercise you’re getting.
Document Meals and Snacks
Keeping a journal is a good idea when you begin your journey toward losing weight. When you write it down, it gives you a good visual image to work from, and solid evidence of your progress. This can help to keep you motivated and to stick with it. Write down the things you eat throughout your days. Document meals and snacks alike. Then read over your list and see what parts are unhealthy. Then you can target the things you need to change.
Change to Whole Wheat & Brown
Adding whole grains to your diet can be very beneficial. You should replace that white bread you’ve been eating with whole wheat bread. Then you can also replace the white rice with brown rice. Popcorn is a whole grain product. So when you eat popcorn, use an air popper instead of popping your corn in oil. Gradually add a fruit and a vegetable to your meals. Increase the amount a little with each passing week. You can never get enough vegetables, so go ahead and pile them on as much as you can stand it. The more of these fruits and vegetables you eat, the less likely you are to hit the foods that are full of fat.
Eat Lean Meat & Poultry
When it comes to the meat you eat, then make it lean meats and poultry. Add more fish to your diet and soak up those Omega 3 fatty acids. Always keep portion control in mind and eat more of the smaller meals frequently rather than three large ones within a day.
Drink plenty of water every day. Your body needs to stay hydrated to flush your system and to curb your appetite. Water is a great appetite suppressant. Then add a good exercise routine to your daily habits. Just start out slowly, and then build up to a routine that burns more calories than what you take in. This way, you can’t help but to lose weight. Even just a brisk walk for 30 minutes a day, if you do it every day, will return some good results.
There are many things to be done around the house that will burn calories. Doing laundry, gardening, cleaning, jumping rope, and many other things that will burn off the necessary calories for losing weight. These things will help you to lose those extra pounds and help you to look good in your bathing suit for the Summer.
