Starting A Weight Loss Program Is Very Easy
To begin a weight loss program is a very easy thing to do. It’s finishing that is tough. And the reasons why many don’t finish are as many as the individuals that do so. If you’re one of these people who have too many things to do in a day, and can’t seem to find time to exercise, then you have good reason why it’s hard to lose weight.
Make the Effort
No doubt you run from one appointment to the next, grabbing something to eat that’s convenient and you can eat on the run. You try and try, but you just can’t seem to find the time for exercising. Well, there are some things you can do. These still take some effort, but will make it easier for you to get in that exercise if you want:
Many don’t realize just how vitally important this step is. Weight loss is done over a long period of time. These goals for the long term are indeed important, but they take away any need for urgency. Being far off, it gives you the impression that what you do today doesn’t matter that much.
A Plan Will Help You Achieve Your Goal
You need to keep your eye on the ball, and realize that every day is another brick you can add to your building. A plan helps you to achieve this. Having a daily schedule for each week, can keep you focusing on accumulating seven bricks to your building with each passing week. Without something written down, we are all prone to sluffing off and being distracted away from our goals. But once in writing, it’s much more of a commitment, and one that can’t be lost, only abandoned.
Set the goals you want, try to gauge what it will take to get there, write a plan to get you there, and follow that each and every day. Set short goals, like how much you want to lose per week. Even if it’s only one pound a week, then take charge and do it. And you should renew your commitment to losing that pound each and every day. Maybe you could put boxes under each day of your schedule, and for each day you say out loud “I’m going to lose a pound week after week until my monthly weight loss adds up to four pounds.” Then put a check in the box to mark that you said it on that particular day. This is a big help in remaining focused on your goal.
Don’t Set Goals With Too Much Pressure
Hardly anyone manages to make all their goal changes right away. There are areas that will require more effort than others will. But just keep plucking away and before long the results will begin to show up. Don’t set goals that put too much pressure on you. It doesn’t have to be a miserable experience. Quite the contrary, you can have fun exploring new foods with new tastes, and exercising even if it’s only ten minutes a day. Ten minutes sounds trivial, but it’s much better than nothing, and soon you’ll find you can increase it.
Don’t beat yourself up whenever you fall a bit short of the short goals. Because on the other side of the coin, there will be times you exceed it. It all balances out. Again, don’t let the losing weight plan be a vehicle for dragging you down. Embrace the little efforts and have fun with them. If today was a little un-productive, then don’t worry, you have tomorrow to have another crack at it. Consistent and persistent effort is the key.
And at the end of the day when you are sitting in your favorite chair at home, take a little look back over your day and see how you handled things in regards to getting your exercise. And mentally go over what you can do tomorrow to improve on that day. Soon you’ll see that you had the time, you just hadn’t found it yet.
